Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs, we’ve got you covered.
Meet Pongo, a very inquisitive little guy with a sweet and gentle nature.
Pongo came into our care after his previous family experienced some health issues and were sadly no longer able to look after him.
He can be a little nervous when it comes to handling, as this is something he hasn’t been accustomed to in his previous home. For Pongo, building a trusting bond is the most important first step. With patience, consistency and plenty of gentle interaction, we’re confident he can become much more comfortable in time.
Despite his nervous side, Pongo is a curious and friendly boy who loves interacting with you from the safety of his cage. He’ll happily come out of his hide to say hello, take treats from your fingers and investigate anything new you add to his home. He’s especially curious when you introduce new sprays or enrichment and loves having a good sniff and explore.
Pongo is also quite an independent hamster who is perfectly happy enjoying his own company. He would suit a family who understands that he may need a little extra time and patience to build his confidence.
He’s looking for a loving home where his new family will take things at his pace, allowing him to build trust through gentle, positive interactions before gradually introducing handling.
Could you be the patient and understanding family that helps Pongo come out of his shell? Please contact us via the website.
