Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs, we’ve got you covered.
Blaze has current & historical medical concerns, namely otitis (he has had both ear canals removed to resolve this) and a heart murmur, that will require consideration before he is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Blaze is looking for a home where he is the only pet.
Blaze would be fine with calm children aged 7 and over, who can give him his space when he wants it.
Blaze needs plenty of outdoor access, preferably via a cat flap. He is not used to busy traffic and is deaf so will need access via a safe back garden away from the road, in a low traffic area.
Meet Blaze – Your Confident, Cuddly Companion
Blaze is a strikingly handsome and charismatic cat looking for a special forever home. Independent yet affectionate, Blaze loves fuss and attention – but always on his own terms. He’s full of personality and will make a wonderful companion for the right person. Due to his charming ways, he has now adopted the nickname ‘Mr Darcy’.
Blaze is best suited to a home in a low cat population area, as he’s not keen on sharing his space with other felines. He’s a confident explorer who’s used to having lots of outdoor access via a cat flap and enjoys spending time outside. A known hunter, Blaze may occasionally bring home a “gift” or two, so a home that understands his natural instincts is important.
Following surgery to remove his ear canals, Blaze is now deaf, so he’ll need a quiet, low-traffic environment where he can stay safe while enjoying his independence. In his foster home, he is being taught sign language and has learnt three words so far!
He’s a big fan of food – especially when it involves a bit of fun! Blaze is currently using enrichment feeders like a biscuit ball, which he absolutely loves.
If you’ve got a calm home, a secure outdoor space, and room in your heart for a cat with character, Blaze could be your perfect match.
Blaze is currently living in a foster home and will be allocated a temporary unit at the centre on the day of book-out. Most cats find unfamiliar environments quite stressful and this can affect their behaviour in the cattery, however given its confident and sociable nature this cat will be suitable for a meet prior to rehoming.
